Budapesti Közösségek tries to solve one simple problem: so you don't have to browse a dozen Facebook groups and Instagram accounts to find the community that's right for you. Here's exactly how to use the site, from your first search to actually joining.
Where do you start if you have no idea what you're looking for?
If you have no specific idea, the best starting point is the homepage's category browser. You can choose from sixteen categories (sport, language exchange, book club, yoga and many more), each with a short description so you know what to expect before you click.
How do you filter once you know what you're looking for?
If you know exactly what activity you're after, jump straight to the Clubs page, and either pick a category from the dropdown or type a keyword into the search box. Search matches both the club's name and its description, so it also works if you only remember an activity, say "running" or "board games," not a specific club name.
What happens once you've found a club?
Every club card has a direct link to that community's Instagram or website. There's no in-between registration step: Budapesti Közösségek just connects you to the club, and you handle the actual joining directly wherever the community is actually active.
- Browse by category on the homepage if you don't yet know what you're looking for
- Use the search or filter on the Clubs page once you have a specific idea
- Click the club's Instagram or website link and reach out to them directly
- If you're stuck, read the blog: there are plenty of specific lists and guides by category
